Todo por una sonrisa ("All for a smile")

The goal of "All for a smile" is to bring hope and joy to the maximum number of hospitalized children and their families who experience distressful and emotionally straining situations, helping their hospital stay to be more comfortable by providing relief throughout their long fight against illness, isolation and despair.

Being a Christian ministry, they want to show God’s love to young patients, families, and health personnel. In short, they seek to be an instrument of the Lord in hospitals.

"All for a smile" currently has more than 80 volunteers across Andalusia from four provinces: Cadiz, Seville, Malaga and Huelva.

What gives life to this work is making contact with patients, boys and girls under the age of 18. Each hospital has a team made up of volunteers, mainly Christians, that visit the hospitals previously mentioned once a week in the afternoon and in Seville in the morning on the fourth Saturday of each month. They come dressed in colorful special garments with theatrical figures that tell stories (clowns, puppets and storytellers) and develop fun and cultural activities such as arts and crafts, balloon twisting, music, face painting, etc. They also pay a personal visit to each child who is bedridden. Each day all their activities are developed under a common goal based on Christian values.

Being hospitalized is one of those experiences that can be traumatic for children, as it separates them from their home environment, friends and games. "All for a smile" offers to contribute to this great challenge: serving and supporting hospitalized children; accompanying them in their illness; helping them to share their emotions, face their fears and reinforce their self-esteem; not to mention the important role played by parents or relatives who accompany the child.

The dream is to reach the largest number of hospitals as this means being closer to those who need us in moments of greatest need. (Matthew 5:13-16)
